When I got my times entry for Arches yesterday, I wanted to get an early time and was glad to get the 8:00 a.m. entry, which means I hoped to leave by 7:30. I was all set to do so but the sunrise was so spectacular that I waited since I would be driving east – I could’t see! Instead I pulled over and enjoyed the colors that the sunrise was making on the surrounding hills. As I’ve mentioned, I did this hike 6 years ago … and I was 6 years younger! It was a beautiful hike, taking my time along the way to enjoy the scenery and the people. Last time I was looking at the Delicate Arch as I was looking at another 6 years of leadership; yesterday, I looked at the “arch” of retirement!
Heading to the Grand Tetons, the other end of the Rocky Mountains, tomorrow. Will need layers! Will connect in a few days.
