Today was a full day – I had to get up very early to meet the 7:30 a.m. 1/2 day tour. It was a great experience lasting until noon. Rowan, our tour guide, is extremely knowledgeable in geology and in the glaciers, which added quite a bit to the time we had. We did have a sighting of a moose family and a herd fo bisons – visible clearly with binoculars and the spotter Rowan provided. However, too little for my phone to capture. I saw a number of folks who come with large lens to capture these sightings – hope they were successful. We visited an area that is referred to as Mormon Row – Mormons who came in 1845 to create a community. After a number of years, due to the harsh winters, they did not remain. The National Parks is restoring this village. As Rowan pointed out the movement of the glaciers, the Teton Glacier was visible. There were a number of stops at the various lakes. One scene is as beautiful as the next. Snacks and water were provided … water in a paper carton!
Off to Yellowstone tomorrow … more to share in a day or so.
