You might think that I encountered these creatures on a hike – not so! Yesterday I went to the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center. These animals – for various reasons – faced euthanasia. For example, the grizzly and her sibling were taught by their mother to look for food around humans. They saw coolers, cars, tents, cabins, etc. with folks around and made themselves at home. They could not be broken of the habit so they could not remain in the wild. The birds of prey may have injuries. The Center provides as much a natural environment for these creatures. Wonderful educational experience.
I am heading to Orlando for the Resource Center for Religious Institutes Conference (RCRI). I am finishing my term on the board and also giving a presentation – returning to my travel adventure on Oct. 4. My intention was to visit some of the lesser known National Parks, such as Crater Lake in Oregon. When planning, it was mentioned that, due to the elevation, that some of the park entrances may be closed – possibly snow – and the campgrounds were not easy to find. So, I will fly back to Bozeman and take a few days to head to Redwoods National Park. Stay tuned – the next post will probably be around October 7 or 8.
Thanks for joining me on my journey.
