The Redwoods National Park and the State Park are connected. Following the directions from the folks at the campground, I headed to the State Park. I found myself on Howland Hill Rd. As soon as I arrived on this gravel road, I realized the comment made by the Park Ranger earlier this morning – RVs are discouraged from traveling the road! Well I reached the point of no return and navigated well the road. The first image is of the road! It has two-way traffic and the road is about 1.5 lanes. While there were some hiking areas, finding a parking place was a challenge. I navigated the 10-mile road well and admired the Redwoods. It is hard to believe that these trees are over a 1000 years old!
Tomorrow I head south to the National Park and some good hiking trails.
